Cuba, the largest island in the Caribbean, with a population of 11 million people has achieved health statistics on a par with the rich developing countries against a backdrop of one of the most inhumane trade blockades in history.
A commitment to providing free health care for its people and health promotion are at the heart of Cuba’s health service and key to its success enabling the country to achieve high health indicators on a miniscule budget.
Cuba’s achievements, internationalism and resistance to US-backed aggression have become an example among developing nations in Latin America and beyond.
Hear Dr Una Lynch’s experience and let us learn from the people of Cuba in this year of the 50th anniversary of the revolution.
